The Wolf is a Hard Mode enemy that spawns in the Snow Biome at night. Wolves are very fast enemies with a high knockback resistance, and can be difficult to hold off in melee combat. They use the same AI as Unicorns.
It is advised to attack Wolves from above with a ranged weapon, as they cannot jump very high and they are difficult to confront head-on with a ranged weapon — their speed allows them to rapidly close the distance. However, melee weapons with either a very high speed (e.g., Muramasa) or high knockback (e.g., Breaker Blade or most Spears) can hold them at bay.
