Tungsten Ore is the third tier of all ores. It is a material added in 1.2. It is used to craft various weapons, tools, and armor. It is found mainly underground, and more rarely above-ground. When a new world is generated, there is a chance that it will generate instead of Silver Ore. Tungsten is one tier below Platinum and one tier above Lead.
You can smelt four Tungsten Ores to make a Tungsten Bar using a Furnace. With this, you can craft the third alternate tier of armor. You can also combine Tungsten Ore and Stone to make a Tungsten Brick.

- Tungsten Ore has an interesting overworld texture, so it is easy to distinguish from stone. Its texture appears to be a medium gray metal with veins that protrude outward prominently.
- Tungsten is also known as Wolfram.
