The Tomb Crawler is a pre-hardmode enemy found in the Underground Desert, similar to the Dune Splicer but smaller. This enemy becomes more aggressive during sandstorms, and can rise to the surface during this time.

Attack patterns[]
The Tomb Crawler can dig through the ground similar to Giant Worms and cause a lot of damage, especially to new players. They can be heard by listening to the digging sound they make in the background. They often come at you from above or directly below.
One good attack strategy is being in the middle of and open space and fire at it from the middle of an open area. Another way to fight is is using weapons that go through blocks; Use a spear of some kind OR you can try hitting it with a fast gun like a Minishark, Megashark or Space Gun. A Vilethorn can also be useful killing it during relatively early-game.
