Nominations for Jan/Feb 2016[]
Squazzil[]
Support[]
- I would like to nominate Squazzil as a new rollbacker here on the wiki. She has been both thorough and active for a considerable period of time (more so than myself at many points), regularly reverting edits that were either non-productive, unneeded or plain vandalous. She has been here and active on the wiki for nearly as long as myself, and I've seen the quality of her edits and her actions to help the community improve over that period. She's gone out of her way to contact me in regards to possible vandals and other rulebreakers and has done a fine job in her role as a Forum Moderator as well. I think she would do very well in this role. iPathos | Talk Page | Mon 1 February 2016, 23:07
- Path said essentially anything I'd have to say. To be brief, Squazzil is a dedicated user and a beacon of maturity and reason on the wiki. I see no reason why she shouldn't be promoted, and I would even go on to say that she should be nominated for administrator (more in comments). - @Pathogen - Can we just skip over this rollback nomination and push Squazzil to a nomination for administrator rights? I don't really see any reason why she shouldn't be an administrator, to be honest. She's been around since 2011, has a fairly large amount of contributive edits, has proven herself to be mature and reasonable in both the chat and wiki discussions, and has notable amount of experience with Wikia. I would see no problems with her becoming an administrator around here. For the record, I have no intention of returning to the wiki (college; kill me pls) and I have no idea what ever became of Forze, so it looks like it's just you, Path. Not sure what the frequency of your lurking is, but I'm aware that Squazzil lurks rather consistently, keeping an eye on both the wiki chat and the recent activity. Giving her rollback is essentially just making her a pseudo-administrator and withholding some neat tools that would allow her work more efficiently. I don't have much time right now, so I won't go into full detail with my stance on this. But you get the idea, I think. So in total, I would urge you to move this nomination to the administrator section. We need another administrator active here. I won't do it myself since I don't want to revert your decision or anything. If you want to talk more, we can arrange to meet in the chat or on Skype. (Also, I did indeed talk to Squazzil and she said she wouldn't mind being promoted directly to administrator.) - In accordance to this comment and the conversation I've had with TerrariamcSwaggins, I will be archiving this nomination as closed without consensus. iPathos | Talk Page | Tue 2 February 2016, 23:48
Nominations for April 2015[]
652Graystripe[]
Closing statement: After around three weeks, the discussion regarding this particular promotion has died down. There does not seem to be a solid agreement on whether or not the nominee should be promoted at this point in time, so because of this uncertainty, I am going to close this nomination as unsuccessful. - Support - Gray has made quite a few quality contributions around this wiki since joining. Additionally, his experience as an admin on several wikis makes it quite likely that he already knows the proper usage of the main tool which comes with this right. I believe he is quite a strong candidate for being given rollback rights on this wiki. Oscuritaforze (talk) 02:20, March 27, 2015 (UTC)
- Support - Gray has proven himself capable several times in his Wikia career, from what I have observed. He is an excellent candidate for filling the "rollback void" we seem to have now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by SilverHexxitFights (talk • contribs) 20:28, March 28, 2015 (UTC).
Oppose[]
- Oppose - I'm going to have to oppose this nomination for now because I feel it is a bit too soon to take this step after Gray has so recently increased his activity level here, from very little activity. This sudden surge in editing has me concerned as many of the edits made were fairly trivial, and many did not necessarily improve the article. I don't feel that we have a "void" to fill with this specific rollback tool, as it is something that comes up infrequently and when there is a need to rollback a series of vandalism, I feel the active admins can take care of that. Even with the 1.3 update coming, I have to have some good faith that this will not increase this kind of vandalism to the wiki. Squazzil Talk 01:35, April 2, 2015 (UTC)
Neutral/Recuse[]
Neutral - This vote is influenced by the inevitable fact that Gray hasn't had many edits on the wiki. However, I'm more than happy to accept his prior experience (always a big factor!) on multiple other wikis, especially since I've seen him at work on several. I do think that chat moderators are fully staffed at the moment, but rollbacks are few and far between (Kida being the only designated rollback that's still active at all). I will change my vote soon based on what discussion I see here. Silver (talk) 03:16, March 27, 2015 (UTC)- Neutral - I personally am not against the idea of Gray joining the ranks of rollbackers here on the wiki, as I can see he has a pretty good hold on judgement of edits (or at the least intent of edits) and his activity level is nothing to scoff at. My confidence is however slightly balked due to Squazzil's reasoning. Sudden spurts in editing can both be a good indication and a so-called "false positive", in that they could only be temporary for reasons both forseen and not. Overall, I do think that we can count on extra help once 1.3 lands, albeit for that one stated holdup I have. (Nothing against you at all Gray, I hope you understand that! :) ) iPathos | Talk Page | Sun 5 April 2015, 22:33

- Re to User:Squazzil
@Squazz: I don't quite get how you're sure the 1.3 update won't bring more vandals. More editors usually means more vandals, in my experience. And I wasn't quite sure why you think my edits (aside from the category ones, in which case I'm not sure why ya didn't say so) are questionable. At least I know the difference between vandalism and a bad edit, so even if my edits are "questionable" here I don't think I'd have trouble using the rollback tool.
02:11, April 3, 2015 (UTC)- Swaggins edit: I see the clarification, now. Thanks!
- It seems like the third sentence in your message to Squazzil got cut off, Gray. Would you mind adding it so Squazzil (and any other admins keeping an eye on this) can have a more clear idea of what you were trying to say?
- I would also like to ask for clarification on your last sentence. I'm personally not very sure as to what you're trying to get across there.
- Thanks in advance!

- Re to User:The Pathogen
I totally agree with you. Recently, because of schooling and other issues, I've been forced to cut down my editing level significantly. Although I have intent to scale it up soon, I totally get what you're saying and agree with it, wanted to confirm here.

TerrariamcSwaggins[]
Closing statement: I think it's safe for a non-bureaucrat to close this one given the overwhelming support, so I would say that this nomination has succeeded. I'll speak to a b-crat about giving TerrariamcSwaggins the rights straightaway. Oscuritaforze (talk) 20:25, April 16, 2014 (UTC)

- Support - I would like to nominate TerrariamcSwaggins to obtain rollback rights on this wiki. Over the past few months, he has been one of the more active users on the wiki in many respects, particularly in general quality control on pages and in noticing, reverting, and reporting vandalism. Considering how he has also been actively engaging the community in chat, blogs, and talk pages, I believe that he will do quite well in this role. Oscuritaforze (talk) 02:33, April 6, 2014 (UTC)
- Support - I agree with this. Swaggins has been an active, helpful member of our community for ages, and he is always vigilant. He's also kind and popular with the general user body. Swaggins 2016! :P SilverHexxitFights (talk) 03:20, April 6, 2014 (UTC)
- Support - I also agree. He has been consistantly helping the wiki, mainly by busting noobs, fixing pages and other stuff. He's also really friandly, and a very kind person. SWAGGINS FOR ROLLBACK! /\_/\ 2662Cl4w5hOt 11:05, April 6, 2014 (UTC)DON'T mess with the Kraken! ReleaseThe Kraken

Support - Sorry for my lack of input on this nomination, my activity has been a little lower than I'd like lately. I fully support the nomination of TerrariamcSwaggins for Rollback rights. Many of the reasons I can think of have already been said, easily displaying his proficiency. I will issue the rights within the next five minutes. :) iPathos | Talk Page | Thu 17 April 2014, 13:16

Drkpanoz[]
Closing statement: Since everyone seems to be in support, I have closed this nomination and added Drkpanoz to the rollback group here on the Terraria Wiki. Congratulations Drkpanoz on a successful nomination! I will follow up on your talk page. Thanks for all your help around the wiki :) Mathmagician ƒ(♫) 04:04 UTC, Thursday, 31 October 2013

- Support - I would like to nominate Drkpanoz to receive rollback rights on this wiki. He has been an excellent (if slightly erratic in terms of activity) editor ever since he joined in September of 2012. However, since the beginning of this month, he has been actively updating pages on the wiki on an almost daily basis in addition to singlehandedly keeping the Data IDs page and template up to date. What with the quality of his contributions, I'm somewhat surprised that he wasn't given any additional rights months ago. Oscuritaforze (talk) 05:38, October 18, 2013 (UTC)
- Support - I would also like to throw in my support for Drkpanoz's nomination, as he's done a fantastic job here on the wiki. Another contribution of his that I would love to mention is his work on the Image Database. He quite nearly singlehandedly created and uploaded all of the item images for the new 1.2 items (and uploading that many images here on Wikia is not an easy task in the slightest!), and did a fantastic job keeping them organized and uniform while doing so. He's a very big help to this wiki, and I feel that giving him additional rights would be a great choice to make. - Kida155 (talk) 23:21, October 18, 2013 (UTC)
- Support - The massive amount of work that Drkpanoz has put forward, both in terms of wiki cleanup and upholding article standards, is astounding. The fact that he is a friendly, helpful individual only adds to this list of reasons for this nomination. I know this is a little bit of a short support statement, but I think it gets the message across. Full support from me. iPathos | Talk Page | Thu 24 October 2013, 06:25

Support[]
- Support - I would also like to nominate Kida155 to receive rollback rights on this wiki. Over the past few weeks, she has been quite possibly one of the most active and helpful users in the history of the wiki, editing almost every single new page as they were added to ensure that they were up to snuff (or at least categorized and marked for maintenance) and helping other users out on the forums, in article comments, and in blogs. I believe that she will do an admirable job with these additional rights. Oscuritaforze (talk) 05:38, October 18, 2013 (UTC)
- Support - Another user who has devoted countless hours towards bettering the wiki, in terms of article content, quality, organization, and cleanliness. Both Kida155 and Drkpanoz have been very active in the wiki chat as well, moderating, helping, also just having a presence there, something that many of the current B-crats (including myself) have been a little lacking in lately (though for good reason, as I hear). Nonetheless, Kida is a worthy candidate for rollback rights, and I'd like to make it heard that I'm behind her. iPathos | Talk Page | Thu 24 October 2013, 06:25
