The Snow Globe is used to summon the Frost Legion. It can be found in Presents with a 1/14 chance, but only in Hard Mode worlds. Once used the player will receive a message in the bottom left hand corner, which says; "The Frost Legion is approaching from the east/west!" in a similar manner as the Goblin Army. The Snow Globe is used the same way a Suspicious Looking Eye or Worm Food is used to summon the Eye of Cthulhu or the Eater of Worlds. It can be obtained from Presents dropped from monsters (from December 15th through to the 31st). The Frost Legion's time to arrive is much faster than the Goblin Army. It comes a few seconds after the first message.

- After defeating the Frost Legion, the NPC Santa Claus will appear and be available to sell various Christmas Tree decorations and the Santa Outfit.
- After January 1st Santa will be instantly slain, removing him from the game.

- The Snow Globe can be used at any time of the day similar to the Goblin Battle Standard.
