The Snatcher will usually spawn in Surface Jungles, although it is possible for it to spawn in an artificial Underground Jungle during a Blood Moon or at a normal night when the Underground Jungle isn't too far away from the surface.
The Snatcher has an almost identical, albeit slightly re-colored sprite to the Man Eater, but with lowered stat values.
While fighting a Snatcher, a ranged approach may be more preferred, as you can simply stand out of its range and fire arrows or bullets at it. You can use a sword to take it out, but that opens you up to more damage.
Like the Man Eater, the Snatcher can be killed by destroying the block it is attached to, but it will not drop any loot. The Snatcher is in the background layer, and can move 'through' walls to attack you.
Notes
- This monster can easily be killed in tight spots or underground by use of a Trident, Spear, Vilethorn, or the Dark Lance since these can penetrate walls and attack it even if it is not reachable by means of any other weapons. Caution is still necessary since it can lure you in, then suddenly grow in length again.
- Unlike the very similar Man Eater, which is usually found underground, the Snatcher also cannot retract itself as much as the Man Eater and does not have as much health and defense, making it much easier for low- to mid-level players to kill.
Trivia[]
Despite it having re-colored areas, upon death, the Snatcher will leave the same remains as a Man Eater.
