The Ruler is an accessory that can be purchased from the Goblin Tinker, provided he is released after defeating the Goblin Army.
This item is a weapon that attacks extremely quickly dealing small amounts of damage with short range and little knock back. Originally it functioned as how the Mechanical Ruler did and wasn't originally intended as a weapon. By the time you unlock this weapon, it'll be overshadowed by every other weapon with the attack being most similar to the first weapon you spawn in with, the Copper Shortsword.
and creates a non-solid, white grid on the screen, in measurements of 1x1 blocks, meaning that players can easily calculate the width and height, as well as areas, of buildings/structures, etc. It offers no bonuses to the player, aside from altering their display quite drastically.
