The Frozen Zombie is a type of zombie added in the 1.2 update. It commonly spawns at night in Snow Biomes and can be killed to obtain the Eskimo Armor set, which is a rare drop. At night time, Frozen Zombies will attempt, just like any other common Zombie, to break down any Wooden Door separating them from the player. Because Frozen Zombies have more health and deal more damage than the regular Zombie, new players will have a slightly increased amount of difficulty fighting them, especially if the Frozen Zombies are in a group.

- When it becomes day, Frozen Zombies will walk off the screen and de-spawn if there is nothing blocking their path. Following them will prevent them from de-spawning. During this time, they will not be hostile unless they are touched.
- Frozen Zombies don't target NPCs and will only focus on players. If, however, a Frozen Zombie walks into an NPC, they will take damage and can be killed.
