The Cursed Hammer is an enemy found in the Underground Corruption after defeating the Wall of Flesh. It attacks by flying towards the player after briefly spinning in place, though it will start its spinning animation over if it takes damage at any time. Upon hitting the player it has a chance of inflicting the "Cursed" Debuff, which disallows item use for 4 seconds. This mob is a non-solid enemy, and can thus pass through solid blocks.
Strategy[]
Staying out of melee range is recommended, as its high attack and the ability to inflict such a debilitating debuff is a dangerous combination. If you must fight these mobs in close quarters, then a spear may be your best bet for keeping them at bay. Alternatively, any weapon that can strike multiple times in quick succession will essentially "stunlock" these monsters, making them very easy to kill.
Notes[]
- The Cursed Hammer is the Corruption's version of the Enchanted Sword and Crimson Axe. It has the exact same attack pattern, stats, and abilities as the others.
- Using a weapon with knockback makes it start spinning to try to charge the player again.
- It is the only Cursed weapon to not share a sprite with any other tool.
Trivia[]
- As Excalibur has the same sprite as the Enchanted Sword and Blood Lust Cluster has the same sprite as the Crimson Axe, the Cursed Hammer was speculated to be a preview of a future Hammer. We may see this hammer in the newer versions coming to consoles, or in the update that was hinted recently.
Update Info[]
