The Crimson Chest is a red-colored chest found in the Dungeon that the player can unlock after acquiring a Crimson Key from a world with Plantera defeated (Note: You can get the Crimson Key even without defeating Plantera but if you wish to open the chest you must defeat Plantera). It contains a rare and powerful weapon, the Vampire Knives. Once the Crimson Chest is unlocked and emptied, it can be picked up after being broken down with a pickaxe.
The Crimson Chest cannot be found in worlds with The Corruption, just as the Corruption Chest cannot be found in worlds with The Crimson.
Crimson chests may be locked again with the Chest Lock [1]
