The Bestiary is a compilation of information about creatures the player encounters, including NPCs, monsters, and bosses. It is accessed by clicking the book icon to the right of the trash in the inventory (?), or by tapping its icon in the settings (?).
The bestiary is also tied to the Zoologist NPC; filling 10% of it will allow her to move into an empty home, while filling it further will unlock more items for her to sell. If you obtain 100% of the bestiary, the zoologist will sell the Universal Pylon.
Overview[]
The bestiary displays the following information:
- Name, above the creature display
- Image of the creature, animated while highlighted
- Rarity, rated out of five stars
- Information or flavor text
- HP; knockback taken; damage and defense; as 4 separate panels below the information box
- Drops, including money and item drops/drop rates.
- Spawn criteria, including the weather and/or biome(s) they spawn in
Initially, from only encountering (and, in the case of monsters, defeating) one of any given creature, that creature's name and image will be displayed. The rest of the information will be unlocked by hitting certain thresholds:
- 10 encounters - Stats and flavor text
- 25 encounters - Drops
- 50 encounters - Drop rates
Bosses are an exception to this; only one needs to be defeated to unlock all information possible for that boss.
Additionally, this information is tracked per world rather than per character; if a brand new character enters a world with a 100% complete bestiary, that character will still have access to the entirety of the bestiary.
Notes[]
- Four unique enemies are excluded from the bestiary: Spiked Slimes, Golden Slime, Jungle Mimic and Pirate's Curses
Update Info[]
- Added to the game.
