The Arkhalis is a rare melee weapon that appears to be a sword, but does not present an actual blade when used. Instead of an overhead broadsword swing or a shortsword stab, the Arkhalis autoswings and appears as a series of blurred slashes aimed in the direction of the cursor. Anything within this area takes constant damage at a rate far exceeding the weapon's stated use time. This damaging area has a rather wide spread, even attacking behind the player for a very short distance.

On Desktop and Mobile , it is part of Arkhalis set, and is only obtainable through treasure bags from any boss in Hardmode. The Arkhalis can ignore up to 20 enemy defense. It has a weaker variant known as the Terragrim, which replaces it as a potential drop from Enchanted Sword Shrines. On Console , it is obtainable from the unique background object found in an Enchanted Sword Shrine or very rarely in the Caverns layer. This background object has a 1/3 (33.33%) chance to contain a "true" breakable sword item rather than a discolored "false" sword. When this item is broken, it has a 1/10 (10%) chance to drop the Arkhalis rather than an Enchanted Sword.T his means that on average, the chance of an Enchanted Sword Shrine dropping an Arkhalis is 1/30 (3.33%) . The sword that the item gives is determined at the time the background object is broken, so there is no way to determine which sword the player will be given. The Arkhalis unique means of attack is unaffected by any size and speed modifiers

[]

  • The Arkhalis doesn't swing or jab like most swords, it instead creates a blur of swipes towards the mouse pointer.
  • It is unable to be enchanted with size modifiers, therefore the best prefix is godly.
  • Due to the nature of the Arkhalis it is very proficient against worm-like enemies, such as the Eater of Worlds.
  • Using the weapon provides light.
  • It has a 1/10 chance to drop from the shrine that drops the Enchanted Sword, making this weapon much rarer than the Enchanted Sword.
  • The way that the weapon attacks is almost like the zenith so some might see it as a degrade from it, although it is not used in the recipe

Trivia[]

  • The weapon is named after Arkhalis, the quality director of Re-Logic.
  • The description of Arkhalis is in reference to how the Crissaegrim ("Valmanway" in later titles) is obtained in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, dropped by an enemy called Schmoo, along with the icon, effect and rarity. The arkhalis has a near identical sprite to the weapon in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, the first game it was called "Valmanway".
