We have been quite lonely on this wiki, we haven't seen a mod in a really long time, i know you guys have been busy with other wikis but i would like to become a mod myself, ive been part of this wiki for a while, and i have been doing a lot of edits to try and keep the wiki upto date, you guys don't have to make me a mod if you guys don't want to, but i would appreciate if you did.

Some people actually use these wikis... Please, can someone figure out how to fix this?

So after talking a bit with @DB4050 , I realized we have a significant lack of mods or admins. I find that as a problem, and I´m sure at least one of you guys do too. So, we need to discuss what to do about this in the comments

Whats the point of this post? It has nothing to do with the topic. And there are people who are spamming posts and posting things that have obviously been posted a lot before. Like this

And you mods have obviously seen those posts but just don’t bother to take care of it.

You should also have a post per day limit because I see posts that are made by the same person for 7 times in 1 day. You should limit it down to 3.

So it's been a while since I have been here. Like, a really long time. I stopped coming once this wiki became mostly defunct after it got transferred to the gamepedia one. (I'm also super busy on many other wikis)

All the other mods are admins are gone, and only the discussions are even remotely active anymore. I'm not even sure any of you remember me.

But regardless, I am still a moderator here, but I won't post or contribute really at all anymore. But you can tag me in posts if you need any help or need me to deal with something. (By typing @BlindCartographer)

It doesn't sound like much, but it makes things go easier and it's a pet peeve of mine around here, so please spend a second extra on the posts you make to do that for me please.

If you vote not to merge, please give suggestions for a new URL and scope/focus for this wiki. This is very important, as differentiating this site from the official wiki is required for this one to not be considered a duplicate.

Seeing as how a number of people have recently expressed a desire to not go through with the Gamepedia merge and have been alarmed at this site's URL change, I thought it might be a good idea to set the record straight as to what said merge actually means and entails.

After this post has been up for a little while, I'll post a second thread where people will be able to vote/discuss whether they want to go through with the merge. (In spite of the fact that the wiki's URL has already changed, I don't think it's too late for this.) That discussion will not include a poll - instead, respond to the thread saying whether you want the merge or not, including as much or as little reasoning as you want.

What is this about?

In brief, Fandom acquired Curse Media in early 2018/late 2019, which includes Gamepedia. Shortly after, plans were announced to merge the two wiki platforms. Since there is both a Fandom Terraria wiki and a Gamepedia one, this was always going to lead to something being done, though what that is is up to the communities involved.

What will happen if we accept the merge?

(Seeing as how there was a poll 7 months ago on this issue which indicated this as the preferred option, Fandom appears to be going forward with their plans as such.)

This wiki will be archived. This means that editing will be locked, it will be moved to a new URL of terraria-archive.fandom.com, discussions will be closed, and it will gain a banner at the top directing people to the other wiki's location (currently terraria.gamepedia.com, but eventually that will change to have this wiki's current URL - terraria.fandom.com). All of these things won't happen at once - as many of you have already noticed, the site's URL has changed, but editing isn't locked, discussions are still active, and there's no banner directing people to the other site.

What will happen if we do NOT accept the merge?

This is a little trickier. This wiki will stay open, but because the plan seems to be to eventually have all of the wikis under the Fandom umbrella have a Fandom URL (ie. end in ".fandom.com"), we would need to resolve the identical site name/URL conflict.

Additionally, in a departure from Fandom's old philosophy of multiple sites for the same topic, wikis with identical focus are no longer allowed (see also: Fandom's community creation policy). So, this wiki's scope would need to change accordingly.

Other information

Regardless of what happens, the Gamepedia wiki will eventually be moved onto the Unified Community Platform (UCP). This means that in terms of functionality and appearance, the Gamepedia wiki will be similar (though not identical, due to a decade of divergent customization) to this wiki's current form. Notably, this means that discussions are on the table for that site, though since it doesn't look like Fandom forces them to be enabled anymore, it's ultimately up to the administration.

It won’t let me go into the saveing of terraria wiki wiki

I want to answer some frequently asked questions about if this wiki will merge or not. I am not a contributor or viewer of Terraria Wikis, and i don't play Terraria, BUT i am looking on this situation, as a person, who merged Raft Wiki, and the person, who was discussing, and merging Minecraft Wikis, so I have some experiences with these mergers.

Will the Wiki be forced to merge?

No! If community does not support merge, it won't be

What will happen, if you don't merge?

Nothing, except the wiki will probably move to a different subdomain.

Will the Wiki be shut down, when merged?

No! It will get archived, which means it will not be editable

Promise me we will not merge
