Tips on pre hard terraria or for beating up wof

I got bored so I built a random thing and kept adding stuff to it and it turned into this. I'm not quite satisfied with it yet and want ideas on what to fix before I go adding the other stuff onto it I have in mind.

My sister suggested painting the blue blocks red or brown, which I'll definately be doing, but the center area looks so bland and weird and idk what to really do with it. Also I have no idea what to put in the right tower top room.
